The Goal
Automate and improve the enrichment and matching of prescription data in patient records using AWS Bedrock GenAI, resulting in better quality, consistency, and contextual relevance.

The Solution
Protagona developed a modular, cloud-native enrichment pipeline using AWS Bedrock, Lambda, Step Functions, and API Gateway:
- Automatically enriched prescription data via OpenFDA API integration
- Used confidence scoring and similarity matching to consolidate duplicate prescriptions
- Created a growing internal enrichment database, reducing future API dependency
- Delivered enriched, deduplicated data through an asynchronous API pipeline
OUTCOMES
This project was about more than improving data quality. It was about building trust in the information that care teams and families rely on every day. By automating prescription enrichment and intelligently matching records, we created a cleaner, more intuitive experience that helps families better understand the purpose of each medication and its potential side effects, reduces the burden on provider staff, and supports safer, more coordinated care.
